One of the many programs that Blue Ridge Community Action (BRCA) facilitates at our Morganton, NC location is Adult Day Services (ADS). This uniquely designed service helps facilitate elderly adults or adults with special needs that are in need of a safe, nurturing, stimulating, enriching day program. It is a huge benefit to those in our community that are primary caregivers to this vulnerable population.
One of the main opportunities that the ADS program has to offer is the chance to go on day trips. Many of our ADS clients truly enjoy these outings! On September 20th 2022, program participants along with BRCA agency staff boarded a bus to Apple Hill Orchard and Cider Mill in Morganton. Some of the fun fall activities on the agenda were apple picking in the orchard, walking around facility grounds to enjoy fall foliage, and perusing the on site bakery and farm market. The overall mood was bright and energetic, as activities were enjoyed by staff and clients alike. Adult Day clients were able to take home apples with them to enjoy for later as well.
